Village Friends is a 501c3 non-profit organization serving the Auburn/Opelika community. We provide a network of services and support to help seniors age independently in their homes.

OUR GOAL: We want to support aging in one’s own home and neighborhood, supported by a caring community. Join us in creating a Village!

Executive Director

Brittany Branyon joined us in October of 2024.

Currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Public Administration and Public Policy at Auburn University, Brittany has a strong background in nonprofit management and community engagement. Brittany is the Program Director for the UKirk Student Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Auburn, where she creates and manages programming for students. As Director of the Collegiate and Community Division at the Cary Center for Philanthropy, Brittany led successful community outreach and nonprofit development initiatives.

After becoming a full-time doctoral student in 2022, Brittany began an assistantship at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities. Since then, she has managed Living Democracy, an outreach program facilitating civic engagement among undergraduate students in rural Alabama communities. She has also assisted Dr. Mark Wilson with a deliberative course for OLLI, along with campus, community, and state outreach.
