Village Friends is a 501c3 non-profit organization serving the Auburn/Opelika community. We provide a network of services and support to help seniors age independently in their homes.

OUR GOAL: We want to support aging in one’s own home and neighborhood, supported by a caring community. Join us in creating a Village!

Our Services Coordinator

Bonnie Wilson is our part-time Services Coordinator. She has been with Village Friends since 2018. Bonnie has lived in Auburn since attending and graduating from Auburn University.  After an extensive career in higher education, Bonnie became a stay at home wife and mother.  In addition to serving as the Services Coordinator at Village Friends, Bonnie volunteers with a variety of organizations that serve the Auburn-Opelika community.

Among Bonnie's principal roles are responding to subscribers'requests for service, assigning all volunteer service tasks, assisting in maintaining a service task database, and creating a monthly newsletter. She can be reached at

Our Office

We maintain an office in the Oak Park Assisted Living facility, in office space kindly provided by East Alabama Medical Center. The office is open on Mondays & Wednesdays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm or by appointment. For the most part however, our office is a "virtual" one, residing on the laptop computers and smart phones of our various administrators and our Services Coordinator.
